Child Protection

This congress aims to create a space for dialogue, reflection, and analysis on the issues and challenges faced by children, adolescents, and their families in various contexts of human mobility. It also seeks to encourage collective reflections from diverse perspectives and approaches, addressing the epistemological, theoretical, and methodological implications of research, intervention, and support for social actors in migration situations.

The course addresses gender transformative programming in the context of ending child marriage. Upon completion, participants will understand the principles and approaches of gender transformative programming. They will be able to develop and apply practical gender transformative strategies to end child marriage, promoting equity and empowerment of girls and women.

This course deals with the care and protection of unaccompanied and separated refugee and migrant children moving across and between countries. This course will provide an understanding of the risks and vulnerabilities faced by these children. It will inform the improvement of policies and practices and provide support services that uphold children's rights and meet their best interests.

The WHO Department of Health and Migration organizes its yearly Global School on Refugee and Migrant Health in collaboration with regional and country offices to support countries in addressing the health needs and rights of people on the move by promoting knowledge sharing and leveraging experiences in advancing the health of these populations.
